Motion Blur and Depth of Field?

I recently had a discussion with my friend about motion blur and depth of field.

 

Whats your take on the two, do you like them or dislike them and why?

If you don't know what it is you got alot of gaming to do :P.

 

But for those who don't ill explain a little of what they do.

Motion Blur: Whenever you move the camera you see a little blur as you move.

DOF: Only what you are looking at is focused(like a camera).
