    Arcana: Masters of Lore

Hundreds of years ago, the Gods of Lore walked upon the baron planet of Astraal. Power flowed all around and Astraal came to life. Plants began to grow, creatures great and small flooded the land and mankind prospered. Astraal was peaceful…
But then came the darkness. Laurases, Lord of Destruction had come to claim this land for himself. The Gods were distraught, for their power could not stop Laurases. Their only hope was mankind.
Once more they walked upon Astraal and copulated with mankind. The children that spawned from this were half-blooded. The power of the Gods flowed through their veins. Capable of performing incredible feats of magick, these children were naturally drawn to each other. They knew their purpose and they embraced it. They called themselves The Arcanists.
The Arcanists marched upon The Castell, home of Laurases, and tried with all their might to banish him from the land.
When they were unsuccessful, they fled to The Keep of Labas where Laurases hunted them down and crushed them. Few managed to survive. Some were Laurases' prisoners, some escaped to hide from his wrath.
Among the captured was the young and beautiful Daleen, daughter of the Arcanists' leaders Maerys and Slalom.
Laurases was enthralled by Daleens' beauty and made her his wife. When Daleen discovered that she was carrying Laurases' child, she fled The Castell, fearful of what he may do. Laurases was enraged. He hunted Daleen for three years before he found her. She pleaded for her life, but Laurases had no mercy. He believed she knew where the remaining Arcanists were and tortured her. For years, Daleen remained strong and said nothing. Until one day…
    Daleen made a fatal error.
She prayed to the Gods of Lore to watch over her daughter, believing nobody could hear her.
When Laurases learned that Daleen had bore his child, he was angered. He slit Daleens' throat.
Now, Laurases had a new problem… His daughter.
Upon his word, the tale of the Arcanists began to twist. Rumours of their delusion and power obsessed ways began to weave their way throughout the land. Today, even the word Arcanist strikes fear into the hearts of men, the Gods of Lore have long been a myth and magick? Magick is a joke.
Liliana, daughter of Daleen and Laurases, the most powerful Arcanist alive, has no idea that she alone has the power to vanquish Laurases and free the world of Astraal of his darkness.
But that's all about to change…

    • Wait a minute. Is this Eira re-named?

Here's another feedback, don't do any design changes because people tell you too. Remember it's your game and you are designing it in every aspect not the people.

I knew I was being harsh…i kinda liked the Eira chick.

    • It kinda, sorta is… but not at the same time. Same sort of story line, just a different viewpoint on it. I backed myself into a corner and put too much focus on the main char so it made it difficult to think about other characters stories. But the change seemed to have done something good! My writing and mapping (while still not brilliant) are better, I think 🙂

    • Oh, the game changed into another one that completly different :v

Anyway, I wanna give you some advice. When you make cutscenes, it best to use Autorun. In your game, I still can move around when cutscenes occured because you used paralel process to do the cutscenes. 🙂

    • I did think of using autostart, but in the first scene the player opacity is changed to 0 and the delayed start shows a flash of the character for a second. Perhaps changing the graphic to nothing would solve that though?

    • Even though you change the opacity or change the graphic to nothing, the problem would stay the same. Not that I can see the character, but when there's no message window processed at the cutscenes, you can move the unseen characters by pressing the arrow key, thus make the game screen moved. It's either you make the map 20×15 on XP so that even though the player moved, the screen would stay same, or you changed the event into autorun. I'd pick the autorun since you can use a bigger map to do the cutscenes.
