Road Map What's coming up on Game Dev Unlimited

In no particular order...

1. Games Section

The games section is a place all about the games you're developing. It's the ultimate place to show off what you've been working tirelessly on and to get recognition. Features include a default setup that displays your project as if you hired a professional web developer but highly customizable at the same time. Hosting and a download link for you game, a review system for your fans, team management, followers and news system, and the list goes on...

2. Game dev profiles

A new profile system that shows off you - as the game developer. This is the place to show off your credentials as a game dev and for the community to see what you've been up to around the site. It will include a "follow" system so any content that you publish - tutorials, games, game updates, etc - your followers will get notified and your content will get instant attention.

3. Dashboard

The dashboard is your portal for what you're interested it and to keep you notified about stuff you may have missed. You're in control of what you want to see and the dashboard makes this easy by allowing you customize you own filters. It will contain a selective tagging system where you can see any content that is tagged with the tags that you're interested in.

4. Points System

The points system rewards you for your contribution to Game Dev Unlimited. Receive points for posting, helping members in the support forums, publishing content, etc. Different contributions carry a different value of points. But what's the point of points? You will be able to purchase valuable advertising space for your games or other content, as well as a temporary subscriber status.

5. Tutorials Section

The tutorial section will be the place to learn all about Game Dev - from game development theory to specific software usage - the tutorials system is the place to hone your game dev skills. Features include a unique system of constructing tutorials for publishers, and features for grouping and cataloging classes of tutorials inside of defined categories.

6. Engines Section

This section will be all about opening up alternative options for Game Developers. We want to make sure our game devs know what software is out there and find their suitable "match". Features will include comparisons of engines, features and screenshots, sample games, official and user-submitted reviews.

7. Resources

This section will be an alternative version of our current Gallery system. So what will be different? This new section will be more personal for the artist. Rather than uploading to a category you will instead upload to your own portfolio. Images will be uploaded for the purpose of visitors to use them in their own games, and thus each upload will have a license (of your choice) that users must obey.

8. Snippets

Snippets will be the place to find your plug 'n play code snippets for those engines who support extendable programming languages, such as RPG Maker VX Ace and RGSS3 scripts. The main features will be a simple to use submission system for each author to submit their work in a structured and consistent way. Scripts should be easy to find and support readily available for them.

9. Tools Archive

This section will be the place to find software to assist in making games - complementary to your choice of engine.

And a lot more

Including sections for tools, jobs, an audio library for composers, an arcade, awards section, contest winners' hall of fame and tons of other additional features.
