Castle Stuffs N’ People

Snapshot    Posted December 28, 2016

    Bob as a voxel character.

    Myself as a voxel character.

I was bored and decided to learn how to make 3d people out of voxels using Qubicle. With the help of bob we got them to look good enough to use. This is the start of some castle stuffs. I know its not much to go off of but what do you think?

    • I think that there needs to be more to the clothing than just a grey jumpsuit with a powermark on the chest. That would be very cool. And the outline for the castle wall there looks pretty good, just needs some details like grass on the ground or arrow shafts in the walls, maybe a few broken bricks here and there.

Otherwise, I like the bodies for the characters, and the hair looks really good! I also like how the gates look like they swing open, which I'm pretty sure they do.

    • This looks really cool! The castle needs more design, but other than that, it looks great!

Also, what's up with those powermarks? What do they mean? Are those characters going to have different abilities? I'm thinking of doing something similar with my new game: characters with different symbols on their shirts that represent certain abilities.

    • That was just basic mockup armor. im in the proccess of making them way more detailed. Later on ill make some more assets for castle stuff like rubble, broken walls, different wall types, etc…..

    • Those are faction symbols. Like how you would wear your faction symbol on banners, flags, etc… Its only mockup very basic armor right now till i get styles figured out.

This is still work in progress but something i been working on.

I plan on making many different armor and weapon types. Im slowly building an RPG system. What you equip will actually show in battle and in the world when you can see your characters. im also going to most likely have a first person and 3rd person mode for when your in the world.

    • Yea im working on both. Sometimes i get bored working on Mine Clicker and like to practice in qubicle making stuff. It helps me learn how to build stuff that i could even use in Mine Clicker.

    • That's really cool. I'm thinking about putting something in my game (via a script) that changes the look of the characters depending on what armor they have equipped.
