Races of Novus, The Humans

So this blog post, I said I would talk about how Novus works in its day, and that I shall.

Novus is ran by the Human races of Novus, with other races doing their own things. There are 15 human races and an uncountable amount of other races, to differentiate between the two, there is this legislate called "The Order of Novus", which is used to tell the races apart. The order itself has tells the differences between right and wrong, good and evil, justice and law, and nobody has ever questioned it except for the non-human races.

The order states that for one to be called a human, your race must follow:
*Upon 1 torso, will be 1 head, 2 arms, and 2 legs, regardless of their length or size, allowing only the extrusion of bone or a tail.
*Must speak the Novan language, or at least understand it, and speak it understandably.
*Must be able to succumb to mortality.
*Must be able to think for oneself. Reacting on knowledge, not instinct.
*Must live a civilized life.

There are 15 races that fall under this category, who fall into 3 categories. Their fancy names are not important, but the general idea is that one group is the Homo sapien races, whom are most like you and me as we know in this common world of Earth. Then there is the Elven races, who are generally taller and more pale than Homo sapiens, and generally stay secluded with smaller but powerful populations in 1-2 towns for each race. Finally, there are the High Belief races, who focus their whole lives around their jobs, god, society, and generally have a greater knowledge than the other races.

The Homo sapien races are as follows:
*Humes – The most common, and largest race. They are not great at magic like the other races, but not the worst. They are pretty great at coming up with contraptions and ideas for expanding their race and making life easy, but they are not the best. They generally have a great sense of national pride, believing that they are surperior than other races because of how massive their empire is. Humes are also the main race occupying Baovs, the capital city of Nova, and most recently have had their king in control of the high throne. One thing the Humes are famous for, is coming up with brilliant battle strategies.

*Danne – This race is almost like Humes, except Danne are extremely gifted in Elemental magic. Due to the large amounts of mana seeping through their DNA, causes their hair to have very peculiar colours. Males have blue hair, shaded in any possible blue colour, while females have red hair, shaded in any possible red colour, then there is that uncommon occasion where the Danne has white hair. It is still unknown why Danne have this colour of hair or what makes one's hair that specific colour. Danne themselves are a peaceful community, more worked up on their achievements than anything, and love socializing with eachother, watching the HV (Holographic Vision (Which is like Television)), a generally happy and hard working society.

*Ordanians – The short form is Orden, which most people nickname them by. Orden come in 3 varieties, the Hume like, the Chateau, and the Chiena. The Hume like are just like regular Humes, except they look much more mature than a regular Hume, and more slender in general. The Chateau are cat like people, who come either with just a little resemblance to full out furry, and their fur comes in many different colours. Chiena are just like Chateau, except are dog like people. The race generally loves flying, and is known for their fast airships. They enjoy the high life, living in class by risking all they can in gambling or loaning out to the unlucky, they are famous for doing… things involving specific non-virtuous actions between eachother…

*Nozan – They are more different in culture to the other races, being like an ancient Japanese race. They are the most unique out of all the races, have a wide spectrum of different cultures they follow, their own fighting style, their absence of technology in their lives, and their way of expressing fashion. They wear many different styles of clothing, have many different hairstyles, and different hair colours. They have been known to be the 2nd most artistic race out of the 15 races, and have been known to cast very mystical and arcane magicks.

*Orcs – This race is not as brutal as society thinks them to be. They are very civilized, though not having many resources to spare on technology and not aptitude for magic. They rely more on each member of their community to support themselves and their loved ones. They do have the green skin and horns protruding from the mouths of males, and females are very common in their community. If I were to give a good example of this culture, it would be like First Nations people in our own world. They prefer to a tribal sort of life, focusing on tents and houses made of wood, and taking only as much from nature as they need. They are great battle strategists, and are always at war with Humes, to prove which race is better in battle.

The Elven races are as follows:
*High Elves – They prefer the forest life, living mostly outside, only coming inside to eat and sleep. They are gifted in magic, and protect themselves and their lands with it. They really love exploring what is unknown to them, including their mythology, the ruins of their old parts, and generally building rather epic designs. They are known as the first Elves as well, because 3 of the other races derive from them, except for the Blood Elves. They generally speak for all the Elves as a whole, because many non-Elven races pick on Elves for being non-holy creatures.

*Blood Elves – They really love challenges, and proving they are better than other cultures. Overall, they breath, sweat, and stand together whenever another culture challenges them. They have for a long time before this story had a military race with Humes, but then the Blood Elves suddenly just disapeared from existence one day. Only Dark Elves know where to find Blood Elves, and can communicate with them. Not much else is known about them. They are believed to be an extinct race by most people until Dark Elves request them in battle.

*Dark Elves – They are the 1st derived race from High Elves. Their history comes from when a dark entity fell in love with a high elf, and their children became known as the night howlers. They have been known to do dark things that nobody else wants to know about, and believe in their Elder and their god. Dark Elves tend to believe they are the most superior race out of all of them, which they can really live up to by showing their skills as a nation. This is somewhat thanks to their abilities to become Lycans/Werewolves, and the similar blood between citizens who can't use that power. Their leader is the Lycane family, who has guided them for centuries, and are the only ones in their community who can use Lycan powers up until this point in time, but they have more powers than just being furries…

*Celestials – They are the 2nd derived race from High Elves. They are almost like High Elves, except they rely more on technology, changing their ears for robotic ones as a standard for all Celestians, and sometimes other body parts. This includes eyes, arms, legs, etc. They get the nickname from having a huge interest in astronomy, and their unique light powers. They have been known to create the most monstrous machs, and the most powerful weapons. They are a long time rival of Dark Elves, they both have different views on technology, draw from different sources of power, and they have a different governing magic in their blood, being light and dark.

*Wood Elves – They are the most secluded race out of all of them, and they participate the least in conflict. They enjoy trading more than anything, and have the biggest export of goods out of all races. Not much is known about the Wood Elven way of life, but those who have visited their only city of Dalmasca, said that they have had the best time of their life. They apparently have dancers, luxury traders, a grand market, great hotels, and a really strong bond with nature. This race has been rated the most humble race of all time, but have been known to appear in some battles as Grand Dryads and Mythril Lancers.

The High Belief races focus all of their lives on learning their magic, or serving their god. The High Saints, the Necromancers, and the Magiri are comprised of many different people, from Humes to Centaurs, these three races are ones you are either selected or join to become a part of. They are:
*Holy Saints – They serve under the god named Yilel, who is the god of the Farplains, and god of good. They have made many inspirations on many races, showing them the good in helping Yilel spread goodwill, and to show respect towards the many virtues of creation. Saints live mostly on top of their mountain, High Hyranith, along the southern border of Nova, saying that the cold helps them ward of evil, and teaches strength against nature for the new worshipers. To actually go to their temple is a sight that not many ever get to see in a lifetime.

*Necromancers – They focus all of their work on studying and executing the Dark Artes. They are geniuses, and have a really special aptitude in casting magic. It has gotten even to a point where they can raise the dead or control animals to do their bidding. When it comes to religion, nothing is known about how they go about it, for it is a secret of their worshiping, nobody knows if they are preforming demonic rituals or praising the sun in the temple of necrology. Necromancers tend to gain purple eyes and lose hair colour the more exposed they are to Dark Artes, making a Necromancer easy to pick out in a crowd. Necromancers are also very hated among all the races, believed to be the devils of the world, spreading pure evil in the hearts of the innocent. Though this is not always the case, they have stopped extreme flows of aether from entering Novus using the Dark Artes, saving the world from chaotic abominations from entering the world.

*Magiri – This race is comprised of heroes of Novus who are extremely important to a great advancement in any category. Whether it be adventuring, science, designing, or just simply having a power that nobody else has (like controling space and time or the 4 seasons). They have become immortal to a certain point, they can not die to disease, old age, breaking bones, starvation, or slashes from regular weapons. The only way to kill a Magiri is to expose one to radiation, mortify them in the Otherworld, or use a god weapon to kill them. Otherwise, Magiri are just like human beings, their diet affects their bodies, they can age if they don't stay clean, and they think like normal humans. The only downside to being one is that they get to watch things run and burn without choice.

*Tenno – They are the 2nd most oldest race on Novus, they have evolved from some of the lizards which used to make up some of the planet's animal life, which makes up their appearance. They are usually around 3-4 feet tall, and wear thick silk robes, covering their large ears, body, hands, legs, and most of their face. The most distinguishable features on a Tenno is the yellow eyes in the middle of their pitch black face, their pointy legs that don't have feet, and the many symbols on their robes. They can survive in hot climates thanks to the think robes, due to them being crystal blooded, which means that they will deprive of water quickly if they don't have anything to warm their blood, and they will instantly freeze in cold climates due to crystallization of their blood. When it comes to god, they believe in all gods, but their leading god is Aulse, god of arts. Aulse was once a Tenno, but her ability to turn art into life made her a Magiri, and soon to be worshiped queen of the Tenno Desert. Tenno tend to be thieves, stealing anything from non-Tenno who enter their desert, so that they can offer art and riches to their queen.

*Ancients – They are the oldest race on Novus, which include the giants, the drakes, and the tritons. The giants are the keeper of the Frost Giygas, who can call upon the powers of Ice to Freeze the World, their leader is the Frost Chief, who is millenniums old, and he tamed the Frost Giygas with a simple axe, moving it back into the cavern from which it came. The drakes are the keeper of the Fire Dragon, who is as big as the Lunas, and can cause the world to enter a state of ash and fire, their leader is the Flame King, who was once a demon, and faced the Fire Dragon in combat, ultimately putting it to sleep on top of the Grand Volcano. The tritons are the keepers of the Storm Leviathan, who can cause what has known to be called Tsunogemon, and endless storms, and without a doubt is the strongest of all the titans, but the most restricted in movement, their leader is the Storm Lord, who is the only king of the merfolk, and managed to make a deal with the Leviathan, tricking it into slumber for millenniums to come. The ancients have a great dislike of each other, but generally have to work together to keep the world in one piece, or else armageddon would be upon all humankind.

There you have it, 15 races, you probably gave up after looking at the page size, but for those who wanted to read throughout all of that, who is nobody, that is the general idea of all the races of Novus. Each government is run by its own thing, like some are democratic, some have a monarchy, some dictatorship, some communism, they are all different. So until my next post tomorrow, Ardi out, and have a nice day.
