Breaking Cliches

If I was to say that this is the first game in the series, if I even end up finishing this game. I would say that it is taking a stance away from all the jrpgs that I love and hold dear which is both very sad and very hard. Destined heroes, powerful crystals, the war of magic, the son of the hero, revival of a god. Before moving onto the corner stones of the game itself I had to think about what the story meant as a stand alone story. With no game elements.

If someone told me about my game by word of mouth would it be interesting or would it be a regurgitation. After spending some time on chat with a few other creators the answer struck me harder than adamantium hammers. Good itself is cliche. The reason why devil may cry and many other antihero titles are so popular is because it is a new realm of creativity. Or at least was. At the end of the day the antihero is still a hero.

The next paragraph or so explains my games plot, so if you dont want spoilers stop here? IDK.

Basically, the main character is cursed and not in the regular sense. He is destined to become the next great evil of the world. The next party member will become a black winged dragon hunter and will usher the extinction of all dragons. The next is heir to the human king, and was born under a dark star; born to become a tyrannical ruler. The last member is set to be the new goddess of destruction. While tying closely into the destined aspect of jrpgs. The story is told from the other side of the coin. The world is banding together to kill you with everything its got, do you become the sacrificial lamb for peace – or fight destiny with every scrap of your being?

The next release will be soon. Again need people to tell me what went wrong and all that jazz. Hopefully this version will be functional.
