Into the Darkness renamed to "Nementia"

That's correct, this project is now back in development after so much time on hold. Previously i wanted to work on this project and then jump to another as i was learning on how to make good games with new tools. Which actually took time away and gave in new ideas for other games i wanted to do.

 

Short story short; i had a lot of good times with a new job and now i have a bit of time to do game development.

 

Nementia is a Horror game same as Into the Darkness. As you can see Into The Darkness is no longer the same game i had previously envisioned. The game was scrapped and it's now being developed from the ground up.
A fellow and dear friend here on GDU; Ardaceus the developer of Wonder's War is co-developing the game with me as we tend to exchange ideas and talk about games on Skype or on the site's chatroom.
The game's main concept is still there and some of Into the Darkness' story is still there as well, only that Ardaceus and I are re-creating almost everything from scratch. Although the game is still running on the custom framework i created it has been heaviliy modified by Ardaceus.
The new framework has some of Wonder War's game features that highly improves the game in general.

 

I wanted to post this blog from day one, but i wanted to keep it a secret until we reached to a point the game was a bit deep.
Ardaceus actually announced the game via forum posts.
Sadly no response from the community of GDU.

  • Looks good! Only thing for me to say here is what are the woods about? Are the woods important to the story? Is that where your enemies are?
    (And by the way, if you guys want to make songs for this game, I've got plenty of soundfonts I can send)

  • I'm sorry.
    The story is something i cannot reveal at this time. I have friends who have tried to know a little bit of the backstory/lore as they say that i'm a decent story writter.

    The game is very backstory/lore heavy. But the actual main gamestory is not given as much to the player. The only thing we give to the player is context and concepts to later puzzle the pieces.

    Imagine something like Dark Souls. No story, directly; but there's a lot of things to discover. Everything has a story and a narrative.

    This does not mean that we are not doing any character interaction or cutscenes. We are doing such, but it's just limited as our main focus is gameplay.

    Thanks for the generous offer, we will see if we have to use those soundfonts.
