• I tried the demo and i love it! i wonder how did you create the arts? Did you draw it from scratch in Photoshop? Cuz it looks really perfect and nice 🙂

• I wish I drew em. They're all thanks to Tony Nguyen (Exo_Kopaka) from DeviantArt. I used to play his Game Maker games back in the day. He let me use his characters for his game as long as I don't use his story. Without him, we wouldn't have a game. Check him out when you get a chance. He's the first guy in the credits section.

• I was recommended this game by Germany and just downloaded. I decided to just have a look at it for a few minutes, since I'm currently still trying to finish other RPG games, but this looks so cool. I started and now I can't stop (except to write this comment hahaha). The maps are really beautiful, and the phone system I really like, too!

Everyone on GDU is doing does great work 😀 I'm everyone's newest fan [s]except germany[/s].

[s]Someday, all us Nguyens will become great artists and take over the world.[/s][/heading]

• Thank you, sir. :3 Omar and I work really hard on this thing. Even now, at 4 a.m., I'm working on the lore and backstory of the game. CyberDrive is undergoing quite a huge overhaul (kinda) and it's going to be better than ever. 😛

Memorial Memories

By rgangsta,

In the spirit of Memorial Day, I thought I'd go down memory lane; looking back at the development of CYBERDRIVE NINJA 忍者. Here we go! Assassin's FuryThe very first iteration of CyberDrive Ninja. A very simple action battle system (ABS) was used at the time; when ABS were a big thing in RMVX. It was a very simple and modest game. Even the story wasn't as complex as it is now. Dennis (based on Dark Den from this site), the main character, had recently lost his father. Upon this discovery, the main character is approached my a peculiar man who offers him membership into a secret assassin group called Crescent. It is then revealed that his father was part of said mysterious group.  If this sounds a lot like Wanted and Assassin's Creed II, Omar felt the same way. And he made fun of me. A lot. So the story of the […]
Project FURY is now Abscond! Our name, Project FURY, seems to have been taken by an FPS game. Go figure. We've renamed our team to Abscond since both Omar and I love stealth games. So…yeah. Abscond! F*** yeah! As usual, the game is constantly being worked on. Slowly but surely. We're basically making the game from scratch, hence the slow dev time. That combined with crappy dev hardware really slowed our pace. But those are now problems of the past! The good news is that development has started up again and there are no hiccups in the foreseeable future! We now have an increased budget for the game, great hardware to work from, and two new team members; a dedicated scripter and spriter. The scripter has made a number of scripts for the project already. Most notably, he made a new custom stealth system solely for CyberDrive. Enemy AI is now more powerful […]

Iron-E.jpg

By rgangsta,

EDIT: Found the culprit; a crucial script was causing the issue. The fix: put the refresh script line I initially took out back into a less troublesome position. Result: lag free game with updating events! Huzzah!  OK, OK. What's with the iron "e"? You know the story of Oedipus Rex? No? It's a story about a king who, due to a prophecy, fears that his son, Oedipus, may kill him to get his throne. The king then has Oedipus exiled as a baby where he's found and raised by peasants. All grown up, Oedipus, sets out to find his real parents. On his way back to his home country of Thebes, he gets into an argument with another wandering man. Both men tussle for a while which ends up with Oedipus killing the man.  Oedipus reaches Thebes and quickly finds out that it's been plagued with an awful curse/monster. He slays the […]
It's true. I'm very much addicted to making blog entries.  I've always wanted to have a singular location to put CyberDrive's lore, hints, tips, tricks, etc. for players to see and have a reference to. Then it hit me: What better way for players to get the full CyberDrive experience than with a complete guide book? This book will feature full breakdowns of missions, the game's timeline, the entire back story and character bios, gallery images, world map, and much more! So far I've made the cover. I'll be planning out the pages and making more images to fill up the book. The cover also has the new logo of the game. Enjoy. -image removed- I'm planning to make this guide a GDU exclusive. Only downloadable from here just as the game will be too.

More Story and Gameplay Bits

By rgangsta,

I like blog writing now. Marked was right. It's fun. This entry is a bit long, though. You might want to grab a snack.  GRAPHICS The graphics are still being finalized and optimized for gameplay. About 90% of images need to be revised because of the new HUD.Not much else to tell about the graphics department except that Omar and I are working real hard to make this game look amazing. Oh and particles. Lots of particles. STORY Last blog entry, I talked about changing the story to fit Dennis' new personality. After a long debate with Omar last night, we decided to keep the story the way it is and try to flesh things out a bit more. We feel that having Dennis be a police officer will give him more depth as a character. Dennis' character profile and backstory is being worked out along with all the other main characters. We're trying to achieve very […]

Better Hardware, Better Game

By rgangsta,

I detest making blogs but I think this is the best way to let people know I'm still active and that CyberDrive is still being developed. GRAPHICSSo a few months back, I came across a nice desktop with some very good hardware. Great processor, decent RAM, and small size. With the new hardware, CyberDrive will have visuals that were only dreamed of by the team. CyberDrive will truly have an interactive environment that reacts to and with you!One such example of environment effects is reflecting floors. You'll be able to see the map reflect on the floor tiles! Another is water reflections. This effect works but it's still in a WIP stage. Character shadows is another effect you'll be able to see. Ambient sound is in the works but still in WIP stages. Footstep sound effects are also being worked out. Finally, a more appealing lighting system will be present in […]

CyberDrive's Story Development.

By ShinkuAura,

Hello, My name is Omar. I wanted to write this blog up to demonstrate that I am a very active developer for this game we call CyberDrive. As I am writing a huge amount of story parts for CyberDrive. I am also writing the world's lore and some character background. Now I've been writing for this game for about two years now and this is one of my most extensive works I have ever done in a game.  Rgangsta, who is the game's lead designer and lead developer for CyberDrive. and what about Me? I am left to write and idealize plot points for one of our biggest game we've ever made. I am the game's lead writer, not to mention a normal level designer and producer. Rgangsta give me the privilege to write most parts of the game. He's also a writer, so we both write ideas and story-lines […]
