1 on 1 : A Medabot Fan Game

  • Storyline


    Setting:
    A no name town in a no name country, a young Cousin of Ikki Tenryou , gets his first Medabot from Ikki as a gift, Ikki then tells him that to be a good Medafighter he has to get a many parts as he can so he will always be able to adapt to any situation that may arise. After thinking on it for a while our young medafighter decides to get the Mead Jun k yard and robattle the bots there for practice and to see if he can get any half way decent parts. After a long day of Robattling, he is on his way home. while distracted by the medaparts he gained that day , he takes a wrong turn and ends up in the “wrong “ side of town , a local gang groups up and manages to get all but one of his new medaparts. After returning home he tells Ikki of what happened, and is told that he did very well to get away with what he did. And that perhaps if he is more careful he will be able to get enough parts together to enter into the juniors Medabot tourney that is starting in a few weeks. And he tells him that the main prize is a custom built Alpha Line Medabot. He then gifts our young Hero with a new medapart.Our Hero fights many battles over the next few weeks , winning some …losing some, but gaining enough confidence to attempt to qualify at the tourney.

     

    Intro Game to a planned 3 part game titles as follows

     

    1 on 1 :Medabot Fan Game ( intro game)
    Medabots: Alpha Line ( 1st real game, deviates from Cannon story)
    Medabots: The Omega Medal (Final chapter of Ikki’s Cousins’ life as a Medafighter)

     

    Features


    • Combat from the Medabot point of View ( see video for a rough ideal of what I mean)
    • Gain or lose Medaparts from Robattles.
    • Icon based Visual equip system
    • Blitz Skills( bonus dmg/effects)
    • Proficiency Bonus( Dmg boosts) from using a Weapon type more than others
    • 20+ Different Medabot and all there parts
    • Point based equip system, that allow players to unlock higher powered items as the level up.

     

    A quick look at some of the Game Mechanics:

     

    Combat-combat is from the first person perspective, using skills/weapons to destroy your opponent, there are two ways you can do this, destroy their chest cavity, thus releasing there medal and ending the fight, or systematically destroying their parts, either way will win the fight for you, but only one will get you the proper amount of up, and you want xp since the more xp you earn the better your medaparts can be.
    Skills- Skills are not something that you always know. They are granted by the medaparts you have equipped. There are a couple different types of skills that you can get this way, but a fully geared Medabot should have between 2-4 skills in their menus.
    Types of skills:
    Regular skills-does regular damage has normal effects
    Blitz skills-does increased damage and effects, also requires you to hit a sequence of buttons on time or nothing happens

     

     

    [*] Please note , this video is not the final (not even close in fact) version of this game, it is merely something to give you a slight ideal as to what i mean about the combat system point of view , and even then i still have to finish the combat hud that makes it look like you are looking out of the medabots eyes.I will be posting updated videos every couple of days as i add more of the final content into the game.This video also does not have tile-set i am going to be using in it , it is still using mostly RTP stuff , so please remember that when watching this video.

    Ok so Im Back…I think….

    Greetings one and all,   After a fairly long (and unintentional) absence I am back, and ready to start working on my project ponce again. At first I had a few RL issues that I had to deal with pertaining to my family’s health, then just when thought I was going to be able to get back to my project, I get slammed with a school project which I did manage to get done, but it was a close one, I really need to pay more attention to those notices my school sends out about the final projects for each class, lol. Now after dealing with some personal; health issues myself, I am back and ready to get back into the swing of things.     Really late , and short update…

    Wow I can’t believe that I have lost track of time, lol. But here is a quick update as too what I have been working on:  New title Screen-I got to thinking about my current one , it just looks too cartoony, I mean yeah the game is based off of an anime /cartoon ,but that doesn’t mean I can’t have a nicer looking title screen, does it?   New Menu Rework-for pretty much the same reasoning as above, that and after starting at it for abit , the blurriness of my icons were starting to get on my nerves.  Parallax mapping-so far I have the basic layout of 2 of the 6 areas, they are nothing special , but I’m still working on them, adding layers and taking them out , Gods bless Photoshop, lol.  Plot line: actually started to lay out the specifics, solidifying the details of the […]

I have uploaded the video I was speaking of earlier, but for easy of viewing and to keep them as short as possible I uploaded two, both are now linked on my games homepage. I see to be having an issue with the targeting flash, sometimes it freezes the game without an error, and others it works just fine, it is something I’m going to have to work out. Before anyone says anything on the menu isn’t final, but the base layout most likely is, I probably will change some of it around, but it will remain pretty much the same unless I come up with something better than what I currently design wise have.     Another Brief Update….

    Greetings again, This is another short entry, sorry about that. But it is a slight update as to what I am currently working on .I am building a custom menu, so I won’t be using the menu engine that is shown in the YouTube video, which speaking of the you tube video, I should have the menu finished and at least testable no later than tomorrow, so once that is done ill post the new video. Once again I want to state that this is a fan game , not a commercial project, I do own anything about the Medabots, and the bot images I am using as my base for my battlers do not belong to me, I did not draw them, I would love to have custom art for this game , but as I am doing this as a fan game , I can’t pay to have […]

    A quick update…

    Greetings,   This is my first Dev blog, and sadly it’s going to be short. There have been a few changes and I’m going to list them here:  1) Changed the way combat works for now, as you battle other Medabots you will see increasing dmg appear on them as there medaparts are lost, plus as they take damage on different parts it will change the amount of damage they can do to you, i.e. destroy the left arm weapon and they can’t use it to attack you, destroy the legs and they move slower( have less agility, at least that’s the plan , I haven’t gotten the legs part to work yet mainly because of the multipart battlers) 2) Add a point based equip system, in the beginning your Medaparts will have low cost and do low-regular damage, as you level up , you will have access to higher […]
